Puuc Route Experience

El Puuc is a region of the Yucatan Peninsula where there is a set of archaeological settlements that share an architectural style that is also called Puuc. This style spread in the Classic Period (800 AD) in what currently corresponds to the southwest of Yucatán and the northeast of Campeche. The Puuc style is one of the five styles of Mayan architecture.
Our first stop will be at Las Grutas de Loltún (from the Mayan "flower of Stone") they are part of the extensive cavernous system located in the south of the state of Yucatan, Mexico. They are located 110 km southeast of Mérida.
Labná: it is an old ceremonial center located just 20 km from Loltún. It means in the Mayan language "Old or abandoned house". This site has been the subject of attention for its world-famous arch, of remarkable perfection and fine ornamentation.
Xlapak: From the Mayan "Simple or old wall" we will find vestiges just 15 km from Labná, we will cross it through its trails, imagining the entrance of its inhabitants at that time to that small pre-Hispanic city, we will find an atmosphere of tranquility admiring its exuberant vegetation.
Sayil: (place of the ants) The last stop will be in this city, of great proportions and great importance, connected by means of sacbes (white road) with the cities of Kabah and Uxmal, we will visit its temple of exquisite architecture and unimaginable beauty.
