Celestun experience.
Departure: 09:00 hrs
Return: 18:00 hrs
We travel 90 km. Towards the West of the State to reach Celestun, this Reserve is located at the mouth of the most important underground water basin in Yucatán, which coincides with the ring of Cenotes and with Río Lagartos. At the same time, it is located within the coastal corridor of wetlands with the best conservation of the western part of the Yucatecan peninsula. It is one of the reserves with the greatest richness of species and interdependent ecosystems, namely mangroves, dunes, petenes, low forest and grasslands. Under the premise of protecting the evolutionary processes of the natural heritage, special care has been taken to conserve this habitat.
One of the main attractions of the reserve is bird watching since Ría Celestun is one of the main places for rest, feeding and reproduction of a great variety of migratory species, especially the pink flamingo, we will embark for a tour in the estuary where we will find a diverse fauna such as: cormorants, gray herons, tiger herons.
We will also visit a mangrove tunnel and a freshwater reservoir called "El ojo de agua". We will return to the pier to later move to the beach where free time will be provided to swim and enjoy food (fish fillet to taste).
